Easy

I am reading "The Miracle of Forgiveness." Just one of those must reads that I have never read.
I was just hit by a quote from Elder Boyd K. Packer.
"...Would you think me naive if I were to propsose that this battle ultimately will be won on such simple grounds as the children coming in after school to homemade bread and jam and mama there? Or on such grounds as daddy and mama taking their youngsters to sacrament meeting? Or that tender hug as they are put to bed and daddy and mama saying, "we need you in this family. You are a part of us, no mater what your troubles are, you can come home.""

WoW. O.K. O.K. a little outdated. Instead of homemade bread and jam, please insert teddy grahams and juicy juice.

Is it really that easy... I think it is.
maybe i'm not doing so bad...

WELCOME...FALL

Race Day...2nd Year

The Ford's were the only one's who took "stretching out" seriously.

William is doing sit-ups. An absolute must for the rigorous 1K that lay before him.

Yeah! All 5 boys ran so fast they received medals. And I definitely earned a medal because I carried Naomi the whole way...as well as holding our friend William P's hand making him run, while trying to chase down the speedy Will and Jake. Luckily, my friend was there with her boys to help me. I invited William's freind from school to come with us. His name is William P. He was cracking me up. The rigorous 1K was alot of running and soon after the starting line he decided to walk...actually, quit. I coerced him into finishing the race. He looked up at me and said, "do you think this is fun...well, it's NOT." I started laughing. At least William is friends with someone that fits in with our family so well.

She may look tough. But she was carried the whole way. That medal in MINE, kid!

GLAMOROUS

As mothers, we clip the coupons. we wait for sales. we shop three different stores to get the best deals for one weeks worth of food. we buy the food. we put it away. we take it out again. we cook it. we place it on the table.
"Jacob, sit down and eat your dinner"
"William, I don't care if you don't like it...just eat it."
"Fine, I'll make you a peanut butter toast."
"Fine, I'll cut off the crust."
"Did you serously just push your sister. She could have cracked her head open."
"No....sit down and eat."
"Right now."
"Naomi, you may not have a cup. You will spill it."
"Fine, here's a cup."
"Oh, see....I told you so."
"dang-it...I need more paper towels."
"Get back here and eat your dinner."
"I am going to count to five."
"NOW"
"Stop running around and sit down."
"Did you just push your sister again. Great...now she's crying."
we now clean it up.
we pre-wash with paper towels. sanitize with a lysol wipe.
we do the dishes. we put the dishes away. we think about what three meals we will make tommorrow.
amidst a wonderful family dinner with food spread as far the as the eye can see...
I realize, strangely...i am still hungry.

Countdown to Christmas...

William is counting down for Christmas...or actually the day when he will get three different lego sets...since he knows he only gets three presents at Christmas, he is re-working every possible lego scenario on lego.com to get the best bang for his buck.
1.
William: Mom, what are you going to ask for for Christmas?
Me: Nothing. I already have everything I want. All I want is to wake up to you, Jake, Nomsi and Daddy and it will be the best Christmas ever.
William: So, you're not asking for anything?
Me: Nope. Probably just lots of hugs and kisses from my kids.
A long pause.
William: Oh, well do you mind asking for some legos? I'll tell you exactly what kind to ask for.
2.
Wiliam: Since I only get two presents from Santa and one present from you and dad, I've decided that I will have Santa get me the expensive sets and than you and dad will only have to buy me the cheapest one. Deal?

Off to Pre-K

There goes my Mooch.
There goes my life.
(you know that country song, there goes my life?)
He enters the building. 1st day.
"mommy, you don't need to come with me."
"no mommy. I will do it by myself."
yeah, right. I thought. don't even pull that one on me, mister.
I followed him down the hall, to the right, to the left...
and into his room.
At the very back of the church.
The corner where the Big Kids are.
My Mooch.
The Big Kid.
and he couldn't be prouder.
I love him. A lot.
There goes my life...my mooch.
