Welcome Baby Luke

We welcomed Baby Luke Maxwell to our home on Monday August 13, 2012 at 11:23 P.M.
He weighed in at 8 lbs 8 oz. 21 inches long.
Throughout the whole pregnancy, we had decided on a different name for our little guy. However, the days leading up to his birth, we both didn't feel comfortable with the chosen name. I thought long and hard. We prayed. We wanted to give him a name that he could live up to. A name he could be proud of.
The name Luke means Light.
As he has come home, his name couldn't be more fitting. He has brought a feeling of light and peace to our home. The kids adore him. They all want to feed him. He puts up with their awkward positions of holding him extremely well.
Sometimes his neck beneath his abdomen.
They can't believe he is even cuter then they thought he would be. When he opens his eyes...someone yells, "he is opening his eyes!" When he cries, we rush to snuggle him. When he needs to be changed, Naomi rushes for a diaper. Whenever he is in the room, we all rush to watch him. Love him. Tell him how cute he is. Welcome, Baby Luke.

This is what happens...

I decided to have a cleaning day. And this is what happens. Everything I clean, gets moved, turned upside down and converted into a child wonderland.

These are pictures of numerous places that my children have created for homeless children to sleep. The kids thought that maybe if some homeless kids walked by our house today, they could invite them in and already have comfy beds for them to sleep in.
I guess this is what I get when I try to stay home all day and not have a million activities planned.
Luckily, James came home.
I told him it was his turn to clean it up.
He and the kids did a great job!

Father and Sons 2012

setting up the new tent in the backyard. we had to make sure it worked.

Pathetic. We have three kids. No tent. When James told me it was Fathers and Sons I was determined to buy a tent. And sleeping bags. The boys have been begging me for WEEKS to get a tent and take them camping. Thank you church. You gave me the best excuse that my husband even couldn't refuse.

Suffice it to say, the morning of the trip, Jake woke up, immediately secured his pocket knife and started sharpening it. His backpack was packed. The food was chosen. All by 9 A.M. The longest day of my life. James wasn't coming home until 3 to take them. Every ten minutes I was asked when dad was coming home.

It finally happened.
They loved it.
They all came home smelling like fire and stinky boys.
I loved it.
Camping this Summer.

Summer...

The days are spent at the beach, at the pool, in the gully. Catching snakes (that lay babies in your garage), catching frogs and crawdads. And than you spend $10 on food at Petco to feed the newest members of the family.

And than dad comes home and relaxes with the worn out crazies.

Then we wake up and start again. The boys make homemade bow and arrows. Jake is showing the little one he made for the baby. He can't wait for the baby to be born so he can join the Summer fun

Honestly, I am not excited for school to start. We are loving our lazy mornings, hot days and relaxing nights.
